Cleveland Beats Florida in World Series
A celebratory mood filled the air as the Cleveland 1997 Indians closed out the season with a 4-3 victory over the Florida 1997 Marlins at Jacobs Field to capture the World Series, 1-0.

Giving the Marlins credit for a hard-fought series, Indians players said they believed throughout the postseason that their "destiny" was to be crowned World Series champions.

"We felt like this was our year all season long," said left fielder David Justice , who was named series MVP. "It was our destiny to win it and we did."

It was the 1st in franchise history. During the Division 1 regular season Cleveland 1997 put up a 0-0 record and finished 0th.

"They're the champions and they deserve it," said a dejected Florida 1997 manager Simyou Lator Engine. "We played good ball, they just played better than us."
